Upgraded Soccer Fields & Spectator Seating
The centerpiece of the park’s transformation is the expanded soccer field complex. Youth teams were seen taking the field for evening practices and matches on the newly renovated fields. Spectators enjoyed the games from brand-new, multi-tier aluminum bleachers positioned along the chain-link sidelines, offering clear, elevated sight lines for parents and fans.
Modern Concession Stand & Covered Picnic Pavilion
Adjacent to the fields, a newly renovated concession stand and facility building now serves park visitors. The updated structure features clean gray corrugated siding, vibrant red roof trim, overhead string lighting along the eaves, updated restrooms, and new concrete walkways for easy accessibility. Directly nearby, a large covered metal pavilion outfitted with multiple picnic tables and trash receptacles provides a shaded space for post-game team meetings, family picnic gatherings, and community events.
Multi-Sport Courts & Infrastructure Enhancements
Beyond soccer, the sports complex expanded its footprint with several new improvement to the recreational facilities:
Pickleball & Tennis Courts: Vibrant multi-court playing surfaces fully enclosed by secure black chain-link fencing, bringing one of the nation's fastest-growing sports directly to the neighborhood.
Basketball Court: The outdoor hard court area with hooped goals and fresh court line markings.
Accessibility & Parking: Paved concrete pads featuring designated ADA-accessible parking spaces right next to the courts, alongside an expanded paved parking lot designed to accommodate peak game-day traffic.
With turnout high during opening week, the renovated complex promises to serve as a hub for local sports leagues, weekend tournaments, and family recreation. Mayor Harvey couldn't be more proud of the accomplishments of his administration and says more upgrades are to come.

The City of Nortonville is proud to announce the installation and hoisting of a new, giant American flag display. Soaring high above the tree line and visible from major surrounding roadways, the monument stands as a proud symbol of civic pride and tribute to military veterans.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Western Kentucky’s rolling hills, the installation features a massive, heavy-duty United States flag mounted on a commercial-grade, high-capacity steel flagpole. Engineered with dynamic tension rigging to withstand regional winds and weather, the flag serves as a striking visual landmark for both local residents and travelers passing through the area.
"This flag serves as a beacon of our shared values and a lasting tribute to those who have served our nation," said Nortonville Mayor Scotty Harvey. "It offers our community a point of pride and provides visitors with a warm, patriotic welcome as they enter Nortonville."
