Gordon Park

Nortonville's Gordon Park is the perfect place for families to spend time and let kids play or have a birthday party.  Located beside City Hall, the park has new picnic tables beneath covered pavilions and is surrounded by beautiful oak shade trees.  The park is open to the public daily until 11:00 p.m. and is an ideal place for a day out with the family.

Nortonville Gymnasium

The Nortonville Gym is located between City Hall and the Nortonville Library.  It features a full standard size basketball court along with a large stage and courtside bleacher seating.  The gym can be rented for private events or a game of basketball by contacting City Hall.  Rental prices start at $25 per hour with a 2 hour minimum and a security deposit.

Walking Trail

The Walking Trail at Nortonville surrounds City Hall and the city's Gordon Park.  It is exactly 1/3 of a mile around, so it will take 3 trips to get in a mile.  The trail is landscaped with shade trees and other plantings that will make those three trips around go by so quickly; you'll definitely want to do more than just a mile.  The trees that line the trail are planted in memorial, so you may want to stop to read a few plaques or just take in the breeze and sunshine while having a relaxing walk.

Library/Media Center & Museum

Nortonville boasts an updated Library & Media Center (open Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays) as well as a Museum archiving the history of southern Hopkins County.  For more information, head over to the Library & Media Center or Museum pages.

Nortonville Lake

Nortonville Lake is a recreational lake used for fun activities on the water and fishing.  The 20 acre lake was constructed in 1940 on Drake's Creek and features species of large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, and catfish.  The lake is open to the public daily.  While motorized boats with gasoline engines are prohibited, boats with electric trolling motors are welcome on the lake.  The fishing is good, and the banks are well-maintained by the city, so be sure to set aside an afternoon to spend with family and friends enjoying the natural views and beauty of the lake.
