Nortonville Museum
Welcome to the newly renovated Nortonville Museum! We are a nonprofit, educational institution dedicated to collecting, documenting, & preserving items connected to the history of southern Hopkins County. Our collection includes items from the Pre-Columbian era up through the present.
Our primary goals are:
- To help modern audiences connect to the past
- Strengthen the community by providing a shared sense of history & purpose
- To provide a safe place to preserve significant artifacts for future generations
The Nortonville Museum is located across from the Nortonville Library (at Nortonville City Hall). The location is the site of the old Nortonville School, built in 1930; the library & museum are both located in what used to be the old Elementary wing, which was built in 1949.
If you have an important item connected to the history of Nortonville or surrounding communities that you would like to add to our collection or if you would like to set up an appointment to visit the museum, please contact museum director, Amy Bowman. We are always thrilled to accept new items and further tell the story of our community & its neighbors.
